Tropical Beach Murals Greek Trompe L'oeil

The Above Window is the Public Restroom in Chris' Taverna,
a greek restaurant in Lantana, Florida. It took ten working
days to complete and I learned quite a lot with this one.

The Abandoned Ark (NEWBORN's ROOM)
Finished April 6th 2007 for Paul and Laura Nordstrom.
I do not copy landscapes from photos so I spent 8 working days developing the light and mood I wanted before any characters were added. I Paint the initial landscape by blocking out fuzzy basic shapes. Good or bad, it comes from the mind and develops as in a dream.

Paul requested the lion above the closet.

The above is a segment of El Chamol Mural in Lake Worth, Florida.
Completed February 15th, 2007

The above is one of five arches in the gourmet Mexican restaurant El Chamol.
L'amberto and Macry wanted a brick lined effect for their new addition to the
restaurant. I still have the wall (visible through the arch) to work on. The above was completed October 26th, 2006

The above mural was completed October 11, 2006 and was commissioned by Helena Hoogterp of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She wanted a castle and princess theme for her daughter Danielle. The room is 10 ft. high and only 41/2 ft. of wall space at the top for a mural. A miniature medieval world slowly developed with mounted nights, an angel, a unicorn and birds inhabit the 360 degree scene.

The mural above represents the completion of a "Textured Mural" depicting two mayan characters with their associated mayan glyph names just below them. The wall is full of contrasting texture, applied with varying methods and then painted with multi layered dry brush applications. The tree branches and leaves extend outward about 1/2 inch from the wall providing a natural framing arch over the bed.

The above Mural was completed 9/13/2006
Created for Gold's Gym in Palm Beach Gardens, FL
The CHILDREN'S PLAYROOM is 10 feet high and includes both above
and below worlds.

Western Tans in Loxahatchee, Fl. completed June 6th, 2006.
Small 6.5 x 11 space reserved for a tanning bed. Detail views below.

Done from photos of body builder/owner and friend.

The open look above was deliberate to open up the small size of the room.

THE ABOVE MURAL WAS COMPLETED MAY 28TH 2006
It was designed to provide a backdrop for Top Down Interiors' elaborate drapery display. The drapes included below.

"Drop Off Point" was completed May 7th 2006
It is in the Gold's Gym in Jupiter, FL
The CHILDREN'S PLAYROOM is dominated by life size figures both fictional and realistic. Details of this mural show the wizard lifting the baby and boat in the air. A blue boat emerges from who knows where pulled by a seahorse. Children waiting for their ride flanked by a unicorn. The waterfall is the inevitable drop off.
